Job summary

Lunar Outpost is seeking an experienced RF Communications Engineer to lead all RF systems for the LTV vehicle, including Direct to Earth, Relay to Earth, and lunar surface comms. The role requires hands-on design, testing, and validation of RF subsystems, with responsibility for antenna studies, test plans, and vendor management.

Qualifications

• Understand space system requirements and translate them into RF subsystems.
• 7+ years of relevant RF/communications experience.
• Hands-on build and test of RF systems, including test racks.
• Define tests to validate antenna and RF designs against mission requirements.
• Create detailed test plans and allocate resources per cost and regulatory standards.
• Experience in vendor requirements and specifications management.
• Strong organization, time management, and communication skills.
• U.S. Person eligibility.

We are currently, seeking a talented, experienced RF Communications Engineer to contribute to our mission in a dynamic startup environment. As a Comms IPT lead you will manage all communications systems for the LTV vehicle including Direct to Earth, Relay to Earth, and all lunar surface comms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design state-of-the-art RF communication systems for satellites and rover systems
• Manage and integrate satellite and rover systems to meet rigorous requirements
• Develop and validate complex antenna/RF designs with trade studies, modeling, and simulation
• Build and test RF systems, including antenna/payload communications subsystem
• Create test plans, specifying hardware and software, while adhering to industry standards and regulations
• Support business development with customer solutions and engagement

Required Qualifications:

• Understanding of space system requirements and the ability to pull together complex systems to meet those requirements
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
• Experience in the hands-on build and testing of RF systems, including using and building test racks
• Ability to define and conduct tests to validate antenna and RF designs against mission requirementsExperience in creating detailed test plans, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet cost and regulatory standards
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Aerospace Engineering or a related field
• Excellent management skills and experience with management software
• Experience developing and managing vendor requirements and specifications
• Self-motivated, focused, and driven to meet critical deadlines
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Engineering, with a focus on RF payloads or Antenna Theory
