Job summary

Obsidian is seeking an Electrical Engineering & RF/Circuit Design Expert to design graduate-level problems for benchmarking AI research. You will build challenging tasks using scikit-rf or ngspice, run simulations, interpret results, and craft experiments that reveal system weaknesses.

You should have MS or PhD in a relevant field, hands-on software experience, strong Python skills, and comfort with Linux and remote compute sandboxes.

Qualifications

• Graduate-level training in a relevant STEM field (MS, PhD, or equivalent)
• Proven proficiency with at least one listed scientific software libraries (scikit-rf, ngspice) shown through publications or work
• Strong Python skills for problem setups, oracle functions, and validators
• Ability to design problems independently and refine designs based on feedback
• Experience with Linux/terminal environments and remote compute sandboxes
• Available for 15–20 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Design original, graduate-level problems based on real workflows
• Run simulations and interpret results using scientific software
• Test AI models against problems and refine difficulty
