Job description

Job Description:

The Rework Welder would perform weld repairs, operate various assembly machines, assemble, load, and move materials within the work area while ensuring quality and production requirements are met.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  1. Inspects and identifies materials from the production line in need of repair.
  2. Inspect, measure, or test completed metal workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using measuring and testing devices.
  3. Set up, operate, or tend welding machines that join or bond components to fabricate metal products or assemblies.
  4. Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  5. Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
  6. Layout, fit, or connect parts to be bonded, calculating production measurements, as necessary.
  7. Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
  8. Weld separately or in combination, using aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and other alloys.
  9. Understand and comply with all OSHA safety standards.
  10. Understand and comply with Company safety requirements.
  11. Demonstrate safe work habits and proper care for tools and equipment.
  12. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Activities:
  1. Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
  2. Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, moving materials, and manipulating things.
  3. Wear Common Protective or Safety Equipment such as Safety Shoes, Glasses, Gloves, Hearing Protection, Hard Hats.
  4. Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
Requirements:
  1. Must be a US citizen or authorized to work in the US.
  2. Must be 18 years or older.
  3. Must have 6 months of welding experience.
  4. Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  5. The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
  6. The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.

Disclosure: This is a temp-to-perm position. All production employees for this role must be employed through Prolink (staffing agency) for a minimum of 90 days.

Education/Experience:
  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Welding Certificate.
