Job summary

Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks engineers to reverse engineer mission-relevant systems, identify vulnerabilities, and develop exploits within complex embedded platforms.

You will collaborate with teams in labs for foreign materiel and communications infrastructure, working with government sponsors to build mission-aligned offensive cyber capabilities and explore automation of reverse engineering and exploit development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 1 year of relevant professional experience.
  • Skilled with software debuggers and static analysis tools (Ghidra, IDA, Binary Ninja).
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages.
  • Experience reading/writing assembly.
  • Unix/Linux and embedded systems toolchains knowledge.
  • Active Secret clearance with potential to obtain Top Secret; eligibility for TS/SCI + poly.

Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer mission-relevant systems and develop innovative exploits.
  • Collaborate in labs focused on foreign materiel, comms infrastructure, and embedded systems.
  • Work with government sponsors to build offensive cyber capabilities.
