Responsibilities

  • Promote safety and follow procedures; perform other duties as assigned.

General Summary:

Under general supervision of a Treasury Supervisor, performs a variety of activities related to, extracting revenue data, removing and installing cashboxes, security of DART revenue according to established policies, procedures and guidelines for Dallas Area Rapid Transit's Treasury Division. will also assist with supervisory tasks when needed and cover open shifts for various positions in the revenue department including Revenue Controller & Count room assistance when needed. This position has inconsistent off days and work hours, that may change from week to week. Follows established procedures and safety precautions and regulations. Secure keys, lock revenue equipment and store revenue equipment at the end of shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reviews TVM reports prior to departing the Vault Room to determine which TVM's are to be serviced with the Treasury Supervisor. Prepares the revenue vehicle and its communication equipment to ensure they are in good working condition for revenue operations before leaving the dock. Checks and replenishes the ticket dispensing system with tickets and receipt stocks as needed. Removes, replaces bill vaults, coin vaults and coin hoppers. Drives/operates various vehicles, such as vans and trucks for revenue collection. Transports the fare revenue from rail stations with armed personnel to the Count Room. Reports any revenue servicing failures or defects to the Treasury Supervisor. Follows all inventory and tracking procedures. The ability to troubleshoot and perform minimal maintenance as needed. Assist Revenue administration with cash reconciliation or and daily operations. Collects and provides data related to fare collections and inventory to assist in the preparation of reports, audits, and analyses. Provides customer service to members of the public in an effort to effectively communicate information regarding fare media sales, lost and found items, and other miscellaneous DART information. Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents. Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications. High School or general education diploma. Four (4) years experience in revenue systems, cash/money transaction. Proficiency of PC software applications to include Microsoft Office or other related software applications. Must pass background investigation and credit reference check in order to handle money. Valid Texas Class C Drivers License, no Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) conviction within the last sixty (60) consecutive months, not more than one (1) DWI conviction on driving record, and not more than three (3) convictions of moving violations within the last thirty-six (36) consecutive months on driving record in order to operate armored and DART non-revenue vehicles. Pass a physical (medical) examination that includes a drug screen in order to operate DART non-revenue vehicles. Ability to operate DART vehicles, vans, and large trucks. Interpersonal skill to effectively and sensitively communicate with all levels of supervisory and non-supervisory employees, security and electronic services personnel, and others both inside and outside of DART. Ability to demonstrate a fiduciary obligation to section, division, department and DART in handling money, materials and information of a confidential nature. Ability to use computer software applications and to learn and remain proficient with revenue department applications including Trapeze, MS Word, Excel, and Access. Analytical and creative skills to find solutions to complex interpersonal, technical and administrative problems. Ability to lift / carry hoppers weighing up to 30 pounds frequently 80% of work time and use pushcarts to transfer the loaded revenue components weighing up to 40 pounds to revenue vehicle. Ability to be dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Gets first-hand customer information and uses it for improvements in products and services.
