Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Revenue is hiring Revenue Tax Auditor Trainee in the Pittsburgh Regional Office. You will develop auditing skills through field work, training, and interaction with taxpayers, helping ensure accurate reporting and compliance with tax laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 15 accounting/tax/auditing credits, or equivalent experience.
• Within 6 months of graduation may be considered for eligibility.
• Residency in PA counties including Allegheny required before hire.

Responsibilities

• Learn audit procedures and conduct fair tax audits.
• Review records to gather tax history and background information.
• Coordinate with taxpayers to schedule audits and explain procedures.
• Observe business operations to determine audit needs.
• Examine financial records to identify tax liabilities and remittance.
• Prepare audit reports, schedules, and narratives.
