Job summary

The Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) in Little Rock, AR is seeking a Revenue Supervisor/Expert to lead a Revenue Division unit. You will supervise staff, ensure accurate tax processing and collections, and ensure compliance with state laws while serving as a subject matter expert on policy changes.

Responsibilities include managing daily operations, evaluating staff performance, and resolving high-level customer issues.

• Resolve high-level or escalated taxpayer and customer service issues, including disputes, exemptions, compliance notices, and payment discrepancies.
• Prepare and review financial reports, audits, reconciliations, and operational summaries.
• Ensure data privacy, security, and integrity in handling taxpayer records and confidential information.

Job Summary

The Revenue Supervisor/Expert is a leadership role responsible for managing the operations, staff, and performance outcomes of a specific unit or function within the DFA Revenue Division. This position combines technical tax or child support expertise with supervisory responsibilities to ensure that tax processing, collections, customer service, and compliance activities or child support program activities are completed effectively, accurately, and in accordance with Arkansas tax or state and federal child support laws.

Primary Responsibilities

• Non-supervisory roles will serve as senior technical experts.

Knowledge and Skills

In-depth knowledge of Arkansas tax codes, policies, child support law and regulations, or DFA procedures relevant to the assigned program area. Skilled at analyzing complex tax issues, complex child support case issues, interpreting regulations, and making sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills for working with taxpayers, customers, staff, and external partners. High level of accuracy and integrity in processing financial data and managing confidential taxpayer and other personal information.

Minimum Qualifications

An associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, economics, social work, or a related field is required, plus three (3) years of related experience including two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity. OR A high school diploma plus four (4) years of experience in customer service, bookkeeping, tax preparation, cash handling, data entry, or administrative support including two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
