Job summary

Arizona Public Service seeks an Accountant Consultant for the Revenue & Regulatory Accounting Team. The role focuses on managing accounting, reporting, and regulatory compliance for revenue and regulatory matters, including ACC and FERC regulatory issues, rate cases, formula rates, and regulatory adjustors.

The position offers exposure to scenario analysis, strategy discussions, and collaboration with stakeholders across APS.

Qualifications

• BS degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• Five (5) years of experience, preferably within an electric-utility environment.
• MBA, MS in Accounting or CPA certification preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP, FERC and ACC requirements, and working knowledge of accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, research and problem solving skills with the ability to communicate with Executive management.

Responsibilities

• Prepares a variety of accurate and timely financial reports including participant billings and rate case studies.
• Analyzes and reconciles accounts and reports; maintains financial reporting systems.
• Performs complex economic studies to evaluate proposals and alternatives.
• Models financial activity to develop targets and forecasts.
• Supports regulatory and competitive strategies, analysis and findings.
• Contributes to department policies, accounting manuals and FERC regulations.
