Position Overview: As a Revenue Recovery Specialist, you will be responsible for the planning, identifying and recouping outstanding direct bill commissions revenues owed to Patriot from various insurance carriers. This will involve investigating discrepancies, performing account analyses, monitoring collection efforts, and collaborating with both agency staff and carrier personnel to ensure timely collections of past due commissions. This position will report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer.

Work location and arrangement: This position is a full time, fully remote position with a strong preference for qualified candidates who reside in either the Eastern or Central U.S. time zones.

Professional Responsibilities:

• Analyze financial data and reporting to detect errors, trends, or anomalies related to revenue loss
• Investigate discrepancies in billing, payments, or contractual agreements that result in lost or uncollected revenue
• Perform account reconciliations to identify and recover missed revenue opportunities
• Collaborate with billing, collections, customer service, and legal teams to resolve disputes and secure payment
• Prepare and submit claims, adjustments, or corrections to recover outstanding revenue
• Maintain detailed documentation of recovery efforts, including case notes and outcomes
• Support audits by providing documentation and analysis of revenue recovery efforts
• Contribute to the development of processes and controls to minimize future revenue leakage
• Monitor relevant KPIs and report findings and progress to management regularly
• Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee, client, or company information

Qualifications and Requirements:

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Finance or a business-related field
• 2+ years of relevant work experience in revenue accounting and collections in an insurance broker industry
• Prior experience with direct bill accounting or accounts receivable collections is a plus
• Proficiency in usage of Microsoft Office Suite tools, particularly Excel
• Comfortable working with and manipulating a high volume of data through use of Microsoft Excel filtering, pivot tables, formulas, etc.
• Working knowledge of accounting software and insurance agency management system (AMS) software (most preferably Business Central, Epic and BenefitPoint)
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
• Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships both internal and external to the company
• Strong analytical, organization and project management skills
• Ability to work effectively managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to travel to other office locations when needed (minimal)
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now and in future

Compensation Range: A starting base salary in the $75,000 - $90,000 range, depending on the candidate’s experience. This position is also eligible for additional incentive compensation that is performance based.

The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
