Job description

Most revenue operations jobs hand you a machine someone else built and ask you to keep it running. This one is the opposite. The pricing models, the playbooks, the templates, the reporting, the CRM, much of it doesn't exist yet. You get to build it.You'll sit at the crossroads of Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Product as the deal desk and architect for our commercial team: the person every live deal routes through, and the last set of eyes before a contract reaches a client. This role is built to grow. In year one you're hands-on, pricing live opportunities, owning proposal quality, and laying foundations that aren't there today. As those foundations hold and the business scales, you'll hire and lead your own team and take full ownership of our CRM. The ceiling on this role is the one you build. Why This RoleThis is a narrow window. We're big enough that real, complex, high-stakes deals are already flowing, and small enough that the commercial infrastructure behind them is still yours to design. Most people join a revenue org and inherit someone else's system. You'd be writing the first version of ours.Do this well and you won't just run revenue operations here, you'll have built them, with a team of your own and a seat where the commercial decisions get made.Primary ResponsibilitiesDeal Desk: Pricing, Offers & ProposalsCosting & Pricing: Own the math that decides whether a deal makes money. You'll build and maintain the pricing models behind new logistics and resale contracts, reflecting the real variable supply chain, recommerce, and labor costs, so margin is protected before we sign, not discovered after.Opportunity & Offer Support: Get in the room. Work shoulder to shoulder with the New Business and Account teams on live opportunities, structuring offers, running pricing scenarios, and clearing blockers so deals keep their momentum.Proposal & Contract Quality: Be the last line of defense. Own final drafting on complex proposals and contracts before they reach a client, then build the standards and templates that let the sales team self-serve the simple ones.Building the Operating FoundationStandards & Templates: Write the rules. Playbooks, templates, and standards the commercial team simply doesn't have today, so pricing, proposals, and reporting hold their shape as we scale.Data Analysis & Reporting: Own the scoreboard. Sales efficiency, win/loss, target attainment, customer acquisition cost, and, more importantly, the call on what leadership should do about them.CRM: Partner First, Own LaterImplementation Partnership: We're standing up HubSpot with an external implementation advisor, and you are the commercial team's voice in that build, shaping requirements, stress-testing the system, and driving real adoption across New Business and Account teams.Future Ownership: Once the implementation is stable and handed over, the keys are yours: full ownership of HubSpot architecture and administration for the entire revenue org.Solution Engineering & DesignSolution Design: Lead the cross-functional work of mapping physical and digital return workflows for clients and prospects, and find the smartest path through for each one.Sales Presentations: Bring the technical depth. You're the one who takes an advanced demo past the standard pitch and into a genuine engineering conversation.Team Building & LeadershipHire & Develop: As volume and complexity grow, you'll hire and lead 2 Commercial Operations Analysts/Associates, their training, their day-to-day, their output quality. Your first team, built your way.Delegate & Scale: Split the load, one owning CRM and data hygiene, the other proposals and deal desk support, so you move up to strategy while they run execution.Mindset & Growth TrajectoryIndividual Contributor Now, Leader Later: You want to build it yourself before you hand it to anyone. Year one is hands-on. Prior management or mentoring experience is a plus, not a requirement, the team comes to you as the role expands.“Deal Desk” Mentality: You're detail-obsessed and steady under pressure, willing to flag the deal that doesn't clear the financial bar even when yours is the unpopular voice in the room.Technical & Operational SkillsFinancial Modeling: You build pricing models (Excel/Sheets) that hold up when a real deal leans on them.CRM Fluency: Power user of HubSpot or a similar CRM. Admin experience, workflows, custom objects, is a strong plus for the day the system becomes yours.Logistics Fluency: You understand supply chain and recommerce economics (labor, storage, shipping) well enough that your models reflect the real world, not a spreadsheet fantasy.Proposal & Contract Rigor: Excellent written communication and relentless attention to detail. You catch the error before the client does.
