EXECUTIVE SERVICE

(This position serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.)

Nature of Work

The Revenue Manager oversees and directs the performance of advanced level work for the accounting, reconciliation, Traffic and Revenue (T&R) analysis, and auditing of toll revenues. The employee manages the daily activities of the Revenue Unit which supports the integrity of financial statements and oversees the documentation of accounting procedures to ensure proper internal controls.

Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Direct and administer work accuracy by reviewing the completed work of staff;
  • Confirm transactions from the subsidiary ledgers are properly posted to the general ledger;
  • Review the analysis of revenue traffic trends;
  • Oversee the coordination and preparation of financial forecasts;
  • Direct and review the preparation of MDTA's cost-per-transaction model;
  • Review and approve journal entries with adequate supporting documentation;
  • Ensure decisions concerning governing standards can be supported before higher-level officials and auditors;
  • Responsible for the preparation of responses to audit exceptions within the general ledger department and development of corrective actions;
  • Manage, coordinate, and review the monthly reconciliation of significant revenue accounts;
  • Develop and mentor supervisory and front-line staff;
  • Ensure departmental practices are compliant with established policies and legal requirements;
  • Prepare year-end schedules for the audited financial statements; and
  • Participate in IT automation projects and other projects, as assigned.

This position will report directly to the Revenue Director. The current vacancy is located in Baltimore, MD. Hybrid telework schedules may be available for this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree in accounting, auditing, public or business administration, finance, economics or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Seven years of experience in professional accounting, auditing, budgeting, and fiscal or financial management. Three years of this experience must include the oversight of accounting staff to ensure compliance with policy and state laws.
