Reporting to Director of Accounting, Revenue Manager will play a critical role responsible for the day-to-day operations of core revenue cycle functions including contract review, billings, revenue accounting, reporting and closely working with FP&A team in relation to revenue forecasting. The Revenue Team is high profile and can influence the direction of the company’s billing, revenue recognition, and ERP product. The Revenue Manager will be highly motivated to face the challenges of a rapidly growing organization and committed to service excellence.
The Revenue Manager will play a critical role in the Finance and Accounting organization supporting the Company’s strong revenue growth and preparing the company for a potential IPO.
In this role, you will partner with leaders throughout the company and play an active role advising the sales and deal desk team on complex transactions from an accounting perspective. This role requires you to be an expert in revenue recognition literature and US GAAP.
The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills to create reports and procedures to maximize business levels, analyze historical data and determine pace to improve room’s revenue performance year after year.
WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS ROLE
Lead month-end revenue close tasks, including reconciliations, journal entries, and flux analysis, with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
Manage and communicate through the monthly and quarterly financial close process with all stakeholders
Prepare monthly slide deck for CFO month-end close meetings
Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and company policies
Analyze complex contracts monthly and review any revenue implications
Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Deal Desk, Collections, Sales, Customer Success, Professional Services and Systems teams
Support audit requests from internal and external auditors to facilitate smooth quarterly and year-end review and audit processes
Identify gaps in existing processes and recommend solutions
Maintain and update revenue accounting policy yearly
Develops a deep understanding of the Company’s order-to-cash cycle
Manage and update Standalone Selling Price (SSP) analysis
Review and perform CECL analysis as necessary
Assist in product release testing for Certinia
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
5+ years of progressive experience within SaaS revenue accounting and operations
Experience driving revenue recognition and scaling accounting processes in a high-growth environment
Prior experience at public companies or working through the IPO process is highly preferred
ASC606 Experience
Exemplary analytical, verbal / written communication, and interpersonal skills, strong project management and organization skills
Ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on capacity as required
BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
