Job summary

The University of Chicago Physicians Group (UCPG) is seeking a Revenue Integrity Team Lead to assure adherence to CMS coding guidelines and to support our billing, coding, and compliance program. The role guides offshore denial operations, drives improvements in denial prevention, and partners with clinical teams to maximize accurate reimbursements.

This position requires a college degree and 5–7 years of related experience, plus knowledge of CPT/ICD-10-CM/HCPCS and Epic systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a related discipline.
  • Preferred: knowledge of coding and documentation review.
  • Certified Professional Coder (AAPC) or CCS-P (AHIMA) preferred.
  • Experience with Epic PB Resolute/EpicCare is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Leads denial queue management and ensures timely resolution.
  • Oversees offshore/vendor teams with accountability for quality.
  • Performs QA reviews of vendor work for compliance and accuracy.
  • Develops metrics and tracks KPIs for performance and outcomes.
  • Delivers coding and documentation education to staff and providers.
  • Ensures CMS coding guidelines compliance across departments.
  • Partners with billing, coding, and clinical teams to address issues.
