Summary:

The Revenue Integrity Coordinator is responsible for the daily operational processes of the UNC Health Care System Revenue Integrity Program. Reporting to the Health Care System Manager of Revenue Integrity and Charge Master, the Coordinator ensures processes are conducted efficiently and in high quality to meet service level agreement (SLA) expectations and regulatory standards for Revenue Integrity.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with Revenue Cycle leaders, Clinical Liaisons, and team members to identify opportunities to prevent missed charges and incorrect billing, providing education on charge practices and medical necessity, in accordance with guidelines.
  • Manage operational workflow in charge capture/review, DNB edits, CCI/OCE, and other billing edit processes, aiming to meet quality and productivity goals while improving efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Integrity Leadership to analyze and address billing, coding, and compliance issues.
  • Provide team training and tools to meet revenue integrity goals.
  • Participate in work teams to advance revenue cycle strategies, with potential travel including overnight stays.

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline.

Experience Requirements: Minimum of 3 years in a related field, with a preference for Revenue Cycle experience. Equivalent experience can be considered with an Associate's degree (7 years) or a High School diploma (11 years).

Skills and Abilities: Strong research skills for coding and regulatory requirements, extensive knowledge of coding edits and billing regulations (Medicare, Medicaid, third-party payers), results-oriented with excellent time management, self-motivated, detail-oriented, analytical, and effective communicator.
