Position Summary

Under guidance, oversees the daily operations of professional billing activities within the comprehensive cashiering services of the payment posting unit.

Job Responsibilities

• Analyzes transaction activity to assess performance and staff productivity; designs and implements strategies for improvement.
• Ensures all Lockboxes, Electronic Data Interfaces (EDI), and other posted receipts are reconciled against validated system outputs.
• Ensures adherence to cash and audit control procedures.
• Identifies and resolves issues related to the practice management system and remit files.
• Ensures all credits and suspense account entries are posted correctly, with backup documentation forwarded timely.
• Develops, maintains, and disseminates departmental policies and procedures; may maintain SOP manual.
• Attends workshops, seminars, and conferences to stay updated on standards and best practices; shares knowledge with colleagues.
• Establishes operational benchmarks, metrics, and productivity standards to streamline workflows and identify improvements.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field

Experience

Approximately 5 years in a multi-specialty physician practice, preferably in a large academic medical center or physician organization; approximately 2 years of supervisory experience.
