What Will You Be Doing In This Role

Under general supervision, following established practices, policies, and guidelines, you will support outpatient billing and collections. Responsibilities include reviewing and submitting claims to third-party payors, performing account follow-up activities, updating account information, etc. This position requires expert knowledge and proficiency in revenue cycle functions, regulatory requirements, payor contracts, and CSHS policies. You will research, analyze, and resolve complex cases with minimal assistance, serve as a technical resource, and may act in the absence of the lead or supervisor. Cross-training in other revenue cycle functions may be required.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required; college courses in finance, business, or health insurance preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years revenue cycle experience, including hospital billing and/or collections.

Skills/Experience:

• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong decision-making, conflict resolution, and critical thinking skills.
• Effective interaction with management, staff, patients, and external agencies.
• Excellent analytical, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills.
• Expertise in regulatory policies and billing/collections procedures.
• Ability to independently compose reports, policies, and correspondence.
• Strong organizational skills for managing complex reports and documentation.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and exercise good judgment.
