Job summary

Abbott Laboratories is seeking a detail-oriented finance operations professional to support revenue workflows and EMR data in a remote setting. You will resolve patient claims, support SOPs, and assist in allocating team resources while working with cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in contact center or data-entry roles, experience with Microsoft Office, Epic, and Onbase, plus solid HIPAA and medical terminology knowledge. US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in contact center, data entry, or customer service.
  • 2+ years using MS Office, Excel, Epic and Onbase.
  • 1+ years in a medical data entry environment with EMR systems.
  • Able to solve complex workflow problems and maintain HIPAA compliance.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as process SME on internal processes and source documents.

  • Support management of workflows and team resource allocation.
  • Attend meetings and use EMR reporting tools to support initiatives.

Position Overview
  • Serve as a process SME to internal department team members on internal processes and source documents.
  • Perform all team essential duties proficiently; including resolution of all Revenue processes, handling queues in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, and troubleshooting patient claims, charges, and appeal processes.
  • In collaboration with leadership, support management of workflows and team resource allocation.
  • Attend and co-facilitate associated meetings with internal departments. Utilize Microsoft Office and EMR reporting tools to support team initiatives and leadership requests.
  • Participate in cross-department project initiatives, as needed. Perform all duties and document all information according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and workflows.
  • Ability to support work queue turnaround time requirements.
  • Ability to actively contribute in the process improvement process.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • You will be required to successfully complete all Epic trainings for TOQ and PFS work queues.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 2+ years of experience in a contact center, data entry, or customer service environment. 2+ years of experience in multiple computer systems; including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Epic, and Onbase.
  • 1+ years of experience working in a medical data entry environment utilizing EMR systems.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems related to overall workflow processes.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA Laws.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, medical billing, and insurance terms.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory terminology. Proficient in Adobe Acrobat; with a demonstrated ability to navigate multiple systems within order workflow and manipulate files into PDF.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with project-based work.
  • Experience supporting multiple work streams concurrently.
  • Process documentation experience with Microsoft Visio or similar programs.

The base pay for this position is $20.50 – $41.00 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
