Job summary

Catalpa Health is seeking a Revenue Cycle Specialist to support billing and revenue cycle processes from charge entry through payment posting and account follow-up. You will maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial and patient information and contribute to outstanding customer service for patients and providers.

This remote role offers an opportunity to work with Epic (preferred) and MS Office, and requires attention to detail, strong organization, and teamwork in a pediatric

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years in medical billing, insurance claims processing, denial management or related revenue cycle role.
• Experience with electronic medical record software such as Epic preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter, review, and submit accurate billing claims and invoices promptly.
• Verify patient, insurance, and account information for accuracy.
• Post insurance and patient payments, adjustments, and denials.
• Review accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances and unpaid claims.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies, rejected claims, and denials.
• Prepare and submit corrected claims and supporting documentation as needed.
• Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status, payment issues, and eligibility.
• Respond to patient billing questions and assist with account inquiries professionally.

As a Revenue Cycle Specialist with Catalpa Health, you will be responsible for supporting the billing and revenue cycle process from charge entry through payment posting and account follow-up. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive financial and patient information. This is an integral team member who helps us to deliver outstanding customer service experiences to our patients and providers.

Position Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Education/Experience:

• Experience with electronic medical record software, such as Epic (Preferred)

Skills Needed:

• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients and families
• Proficient with MS Office applications
• EPIC experience preferred
