Job summary

Independence Physician Management (IPM) seeks a Revenue Cycle Specialist to drive front-end workflows and revenue optimization across IPM Market Leadership. This role is embedded in the IPM Market team to align with the Central Billing Office and improve patient satisfaction and billing efficiency.

The successful candidate will reside in Laredo, TX or Southern California and will influence metrics such as eligibility verification, registration accuracy, encounters without charges, and denials

Qualifications

• Healthcare billing experience (3–5 years) in professional billing or health insurance.
• Knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding and claim submission.
• Understanding of revenue cycle and payor requirements.
• Registration data requirements and health plan payors knowledge.
• Strong communication, presentation, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Improve revenue cycle processes to boost productivity and faster payments.
• Train and enforce front-end workflows and metrics.
• Capture and trend metrics like eligibility, registrations, encounters without charges, denials.
• Be visible in IPM Markets and coordinate with CBO for consistency across IPM.

Responsibilities

Independence Physician Management (IPM) was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit. IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics within the Acute Care and Behavioral Health Divisions. A subsidiary of UHS, IPM operates in 13 markets across 7 states – and counting. We help doctors manage their practices and clinical procedures so they can concentrate on caring for their patients.

The Revenue Cycle Specialist plays a pivotal role in working with IPM Market Leadership to drive consistency in ‘front-end’ workflows and business processes that will help the Market maximize revenue along with enhanced patient satisfaction. The Specialist is an extension of the IPM Central Billing Office (CBO) but is embedded in the IPM Market to assist with specific tasks that will enhance the overall revenue cycle continuum.

Successful candidate must reside in Laredo,Texas or Southern California areas.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Strives to improve and accelerate revenue cycle processes to achieve higher productivity, faster payments, decreased rework, and improved patient service by working with leadership and staff to promote best practices throughout IPM.
• Specific workflows will be trained and enforced along with daily/weekly/monthly metrics to help determine the overall “health” of the [front end] revenue cycle.
• Metrics such as eligibility verification, registration accuracy, encounters without charges, charge lag, denials, and TOS/NTOS collections will be captured, shared, and trended.
• Be a visible presence in each IPM Market, and they work closely with each other as well as the IPM CBO to ensure consistency in process and best practice across all of IPM.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate/GED, Technical School, 2 Years College, or Associates Degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience (3-5 years minimum) working in a healthcare (professional) billing, health insurance or equivalent operations work environment.
• Work experience in a client facing position, project management experience and/or customer service highly desirable.
• Healthcare (professional) billing, broad knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding, claim submission requirements and other related industry terminology and practical use.
• Knowledge of registration data requirements and health plan payors
• Thorough understanding of the revenue cycle and how the various components work together.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Project Management.
• Strong interpersonal, customer service and organization skills.
• Strong computer literacy skills.
• Must reside in Southern California or Laredo, TX areas.
• Travel required to both areas.
