Job summary

Centra Health is seeking a Patient Access professional to manage patient registrations and financial interactions in the Acute Revenue Cycle. You will collect demographics, verify insurance, and coordinate payments and authorizations.

This role focuses on delivering courteous service, accurate data entry, and compliant communication with patients and providers. Evening and weekend coverage may be required in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
• Proficient typing and spelling.
• Proficient computer skills, multitasking with data entry while using multiple computer applications.
• Ability to provide high level of customer service, attention to detail, critical thinking, and have proficient written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients for hospital services and collects accurate demographics.
• Verifies insurance plans and coordinates benefits.
• Handles payments at point of service and balances transactions.
• Obtains completed authorizations and notifications of admissions.
• Assists with financial clearance and payment plans.
• Responds to calls, emails, and other communication.
• Promotes a positive working environment.
• Maintains open and positive communication.
• Complies with HIPAA, CMS, EMTALA, TJC, Centra policies.
