Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Senior Analyst, RevCycle Optimization to enable enterprise Revenue Cycle improvements by analyzing workflows and mitigating Epic-related inefficiencies. You will partner with Revenue Cycle departments, Epic/IT, and analytics teams to reduce denials and improve timelines.

You will develop training materials, document workflows, and support rollout of optimization initiatives with a focus on adoption and measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Support enterprise Revenue Cycle optimization initiatives across Hospital and Professional Billing.
  • Conduct workflow assessments to identify inefficiencies and automation opportunities.
  • Document current and future-state workflows, gaps, risks, and requirements.
  • Partner with Epic/IT and denial/reporting analytics teams to address pain points with practical solutions.
  • Translate needs into clear business requirements for Epic optimization and reporting enhancements.
  • Develop training materials, job aids, and adoption checklists for optimized workflows.
  • Support testing, validation, and rollout of Epic workflow changes.
  • Monitor adoption and outcomes post-implementation, including denial reduction and improved reimbursement efficiency.
  • Maintain project documentation, action logs, and benefit tracking tools.

Job description

SUMMARY:

The Senior Analyst, RevCycle Optimization will support enterprise-wide Revenue Cycle improvement by analyzing workflows, identifying operational and Epic-related inefficiencies, supporting optimization and automation initiatives, developing training and adoption materials, and helping implement cross-functional improvements. This role will partner with the Manager, Revenue Cycle departments, Epic/IT partners, and the existing Hospital Billing and Professional Billing denial/reporting analytics teams to support improvements that reduce denials, capture net-new revenue, reduce avoidable write-offs, shorten rework cycles, and improve operational consistency.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support the Manager, RevCycle Optimization in execution of enterprise Revenue Cycle optimization initiatives across Hospital Billing, Professional Billing, Patient Access, Coding, Denials, Revenue Integrity, HIM, Cash Posting, and related departments.
  • Conduct workflow assessments to identify inefficiencies, rework, manual processes, Epic workflow variation, denial drivers, missed automation opportunities, and standardization needs.
  • Document current-state workflows, future-state workflows, process gaps, risks, business requirements, implementation needs, and training/adoption considerations.
  • Partner with operational leaders, frontline users, Epic/IT partners, and denial/reporting analytics teams to connect operational pain points to practical workflow and technology solutions.
  • Support analysis of denial trends, workqueue behavior, operational issues, performance metrics, and revenue leakage indicators in partnership with analytics and operational teams.
  • Translate operational needs into clear business requirements for Epic optimization, reporting enhancements, automation opportunities, process changes, and training materials.
  • Develop training materials, job aids, tip sheets, workflow guides, user communications, adoption checklists, and other practical tools to support optimized workflows. Draft for HR review
  • Support testing, validation, communication, and rollout of Epic workflow changes and operational process improvements.
  • Monitor adoption and outcomes after implementation, including evidence of denial reduction, reduced manual effort, improved process consistency, and improved reimbursement efficiency.
  • Maintain project documentation, action logs, issue lists, decision trackers, workflow documents, training materials, and benefit tracking tools.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, workflow simplification, self-service training, digital learning tools, and process standardization that reduce manual work and improve consistency.
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant healthcare, Revenue Cycle, process improvement, training, or operational experience.
  • Experience in healthcare operations, Revenue Cycle, workflow improvement, training, business analysis, system implementation, or related process improvement work.
  • Strong ability to analyze workflows, identify process gaps, document findings, and recommend practical improvements.
  • Experience developing training materials, user guides, workflow documentation, communication materials, or adoption-support tools.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across operational, technical, analytics, and leadership teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain documentation, track action items, and support project execution.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Epic credentialed trainer experience or strong Epic workflow familiarity.
  • Experience with Patient Access, front-end Revenue Cycle, denials, authorization, reimbursement, billing, workqueues, or related operational workflows.
  • Experience supporting automation, digital transformation, workflow standardization, system implementation, or process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience using data, performance metrics, denial trends, or operational reporting to support improvement recommendations.
  • Experience supporting complex healthcare system rollouts, change management, or training programs

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Provides functional guidance to others who may be assigned on a project basis.

Pay Range:

$74,672.00-$123,198.40
