Job Title: Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Development Lead

About the Role:

We’re seeking an experienced Senior RCM Developer to join our growing healthcare technology team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain systems that support the full revenue cycle process, focusing on claim creation, remittance processing, and clearinghouse integrations. You will collaborate closely with product managers, RCM operations, and payer integration teams to ensure the efficient and accurate flow of financial data.

This role requires a deep technical background along with a strong understanding of healthcare billing standards, including 835/837 transactions and payer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain RCM-related software components and APIs.
• Build integrations for electronic claim submissions (837) and remittance processing (835).
• Develop tools that support billing workflows, denials management, payment posting, and revenue analytics.
• Work with clearinghouses, payers, and internal teams to ensure compliance with payer rules and regulatory standards.
• Write and maintain mapping logic for EDI files (837P, 837I, 835) using X12 standards.
• Partner with product and RCM operations teams to gather requirements and implement scalable solutions.
• Support and troubleshoot production issues related to claims, remittances, eligibility, or charge capture.
• Optimize RCM module performance to reduce claim rejections and improve payment timelines.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in RCM Development, 2 years as an RCM Development Lead, and 9 years of experience overall
• Strong working knowledge of X12 EDI formats (especially 835 and 837).
• Experience integrating with clearinghouses (e.g., Change Healthcare, Availity, Waystar) and payer APIs.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, HL7, and healthcare data security standards.
• Understanding of billing workflows, insurance types (primary, secondary, tertiary), denials, and revenue cycle processes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with EHR/EMR platforms or RCM systems.
• Familiarity with FHIR and healthcare interoperability standards.
• Experience with claims validation tools or EDI translators (e.g., Edifecs, XEngine, PilotFish).
• Knowledge of Agile development practices and Jira.

Nice to have:

• Proficiency in Go (Golang) for backend development.
• Experience with MongoDB and other NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and SQL queries.
