Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in healthcare administration.
• General CPT coding knowledge and third-party billing requirements.
• Analytical and communication skills to explain, interpret, and present data.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities for multiple priorities.
• Proven ability to collaborate across departments and with payors.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data tracking for reporting.

Responsibilities

• Submit accurate and timely insurance claims using billing software.
• Monitor and follow up on unpaid claims, interpret denial reasons, and file appeals.
• Process insurance rejections and requests for additional information to expedite payment.
• Analyze denial trends and recommend process improvements to leadership.
• Prepare rationales for claim reconsideration to improve overturn rates.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and review clinician notes for accuracy.
• Explain balances and payment options to patients; assist with financial counseling.
• Collaborate with Access/Patient Services to improve front-end billing accuracy.
• Maintain relationships with payers to reduce AR days and improve revenue cycle performance.
