Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience interpreting insurance plan benefits and billing requirements.
• Customer service experience in a similar field is beneficial; FTC confidentiality rules apply.

Responsibilities

• Reviews third party claims for accuracy and completeness and submits within filing restrictions.
• Performs follow up by phone or electronic inquiry on accounts with outstanding balances.
• Expedites claim adjudication by resolving issues with patients as needed.
• Documents follow up activity clearly in the patient accounting system.
• Resubmits claims to payers and handles secondary/tertiary claims as required.
• Maintains accurate account balances and requests adjustments as needed.
• Collaborates with revenue cycle staff and site leadership to ensure timely payments.
• Researches and resolves credit balance accounts per payer or aging reports.
• Completes productivity reporting as directed; performs other duties as assigned.
