Pay Range

This range is provided by Town of Hilton Head Island. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — discuss with your recruiter for more details.

Base pay range: $55,900.00/yr - $62,600.00/yr

Position Overview

The Town of Hilton Head Island is seeking a Revenue Collector to enforce and collect payments related to the Town’s Business License and Taxation Ordinances. Responsibilities include investigating, auditing, analyzing financial documents, and assessing compliance to determine amounts due.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce the Town’s Business License and Taxation Ordinances.
  • Investigate and document compliance with various taxes and fees.
  • Search for unlicensed businesses and tax accounts.
  • Contact businesses regarding licenses and tax deadlines.
  • Audit businesses to ensure proper payments.
  • Estimate amounts owed by non-compliant businesses.
  • Collaborate with Public Safety on enforcement efforts.
  • Collect outstanding balances of taxes and penalties.
  • Process NSF checks according to policies.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree and three years of related experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
