Job summary

Intuitive Surgical is seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager to lead strategy and modernization of the revenue accounting function. You will drive rebates, system implementations, and process automation while partnering across Finance, Commercial, and IT to enable growth.

You will oversee monthly/quarterly closes, ensure GAAP compliance, and mentor a team in a fast-paced environment. This role requires onsite presence in Sunnyvale, CA.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of progressive public accounting or relevant industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of revenue recognition under ASC 606.
• Experience leading operational accounting close activities and reviewing complex account analyses.
• Experience with system implementations, process transformation, or finance technology projects.
• Experience with ERP and related financial systems.
• Strong project management across cross-functional teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships and lead through influence.
• Onsite in Sunnyvale, CA office Tue–Thu.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic initiatives to enhance revenue accounting processes, systems, and controls.
• Act as Revenue Accounting lead on cross-functional projects, including rebate programs, system implementations, and process automation.
• Partner with Accounting, FP&A, Commercial Operations, IT, and Customer Finance to design scalable processes and tech-enabled solutions.
• Translate complex accounting requirements into practical system designs, business requirements, and test strategies.
• Drive project execution from requirements gathering through testing, deployment, and adoption.
• Evaluate the accounting implications of new business models and ASC 606/ ASC 842 where applicable.
• Support internal and external audits related to revenue processes and system implementations.
• Support monthly and quarterly close by overseeing select revenue accounting activities and analyses.
• Develop, coach, and mentor team members; foster accountability and collaboration.
• Communicate complex accounting and system matters to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
