Job summary

Expedia Group in Springfield, MO seeks an Accountant to support core revenue accounting processes for its online vacation rental business. You will gain expertise in revenue recognition, financial systems, data analysis, and process improvements within a tech-driven travel company.

You’ll work with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate close, strong controls, and audit readiness, contributing to a high-growth travel platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Up to three years of accounting experience including internship or related roles.
• Foundational knowledge of reconciliations, journal entries, and close activities.
• Experience reviewing data, investigating variances, or analyzing financial information.
• Proficient Excel skills with attention to detail.
• Clear communication and collaborative work style.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly and quarterly revenue accounting close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare, maintain, and analyze reconciliations for cash, revenue, deferred revenue, and related accounts.
• Apply and document revenue recognition policies under U.S. GAAP.
• Review data, investigate variances, and resolve reconciliation differences.
• Communicate accounting issues and escalate risks as needed.
• Help maintain SOX controls, documentation, and audit-ready support.
• Assist with audits by gathering schedules and evidence.
• Collaborate with Sales, FP&A, Product, Legal, Tax, and Technology teams.
• Identify opportunities to simplify and improve revenue accounting processes and reporting.
• Build knowledge of revenue systems and data sources in a collaborative team.
