Job summary

HNTB Corporation seeks an on-site Construction Inspector Intern to support projects across multiple locations. You will observe field work, verify adherence to plans and specs, and contribute to daily reports and documentation.

Requirement includes a High School Diploma or GED and existing jurisdictional certificates. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position; prior HNTB internship experience is preferred.

• All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements are required.

Responsibilities

• Observes, documents, and verifies work on-site to ensure compliance with contract documents and plans.
• Performs rudimentary mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work.
• Maintains Inspector's daily report of activities, labor, equipment, and material quantities.
• Assists in on-site material testing and creates as-constructed sketches as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

This opportunity entails being responsible for conducting on-site construction inspections for projects supporting our clients. Provides inspection services for compliance with plans and specifications, prepares required contract documentation, and follows prescribed Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures. This position is for current/former HNTB interns only.

What You'll Do

• Observes, documents, and verifies work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with contract documents and plans. Confirms procedures are followed and material used conforms to specifications.
• Utilizes engineering inspection practices to perform rudimentary mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work to date.
• Maintains Inspector's daily report of assigned work activities, contactor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified.
• Assists in on-site material testing and produces as-constructed sketches as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 1 year of construction experience.
• All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements.
