Job summary

HNTB Corporation is seeking a construction inspector to perform on-site inspections and quality assurance/quality control across active projects. You will verify contractor work against plans, document progress, and assist with material testing and as-built sketches.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED with at least one year of construction experience and possess required jurisdictional certificates. Prior HNTB internship experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observes, documents, and verifies work in progress for contract compliance.
• Ensures procedures followed and materials meet specifications.
• Performs rudimentary mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work.
• Maintains Inspector’s daily report of activities, labor, equipment, and materials.
• Assists in on-site material testing and prepares as-constructed sketches.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

This opportunity entails being responsible for conducting on-site construction inspections for projects supporting our clients. Provides inspection services for compliance with plans and specifications, prepares required contract documentation, and follows prescribed Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures. This position is for current/former HNTB interns only.

What You’ll Do:

• Observes, documents, and verifies work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with contract documents and plans.
• Confirms procedures are followed and material used conforms to specifications.
• Utilizes engineering inspection practices to perform rudimentary mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work to date.
• Maintains Inspector’s daily report of assigned work activities, contactor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified.
• Assists in on‑site material testing and produces as‑constructed sketches as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:
