Job summary

YMCA of Southern Arizona is hiring a Retreat Program Specialist for Triangle Y Ranch Camp & Retreat Center in Oracle, AZ. The role focuses on supervising groups, planning activities, and ensuring safety in alignment with YMCA policies.

Candidates should have youth development knowledge, 6+ months with children in recreation, and CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire. A flexible schedule including weekends is required.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of youth development.
• 6+ months of experience with children in a recreational setting (preferred).
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.
• YMCA online training upon hire and periodically thereafter.
• Ability to plan and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card preferred; able to obtain one.
• Maintain physical and mental readiness.
• Experience with diverse populations.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Flexible schedule including mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and provides leadership for an assigned group of participants.
• Plans and implements culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate activities.
• Responds quickly to potential dangers or injuries and ensures safety.
• Maintains safe site conditions and follows YMCA policies.
• Reviews emergency procedures and reports hazards.
• Welcomes members, participants, and guests and builds relationships.
• Maintains program area cleanliness and organization.
• Engages with diverse groups and completes skill assessments.
