Position Overview

The Maintenance Retort Specialist's primary responsibility will be to ensure the retorts are free of debris, functioning properly, and running efficiently.

Responsibilities

1. Review production schedules to identify time requirements for retort processes, considering potential glass breakage, and react quickly to changing schedules.
2. Prepare proper materials and parts for glass breakage incidents.
3. Support production and guide machine operators to reduce downtime caused by glass breakage.
4. Implement lean manufacturing techniques to optimize retort cleaning, improve product quality, efficiency, and process consistency at minimal cost.
5. Clean, store, and maintain secondary equipment, perform minor repairs and part replacements.
6. Estimate repair times and document work orders in AMMS.
7. Review manuals, blueprints, and supply catalogs for troubleshooting.
8. Maintain spare parts inventory in collaboration with the parts administrator.
9. Communicate effectively with team leaders, maintenance staff, and coworkers.
10. Work overtime as needed and perform minor building maintenance and repairs.
