The Retirement Relationship Specialist position supports internal and external wholesalers as a dedicated liaison and advocate, driving efficient resolution of complex issues, providing guidance on best practices, and serving as a communication point for all Retirement division distribution teams.

Internal title: Associate II Sales Support

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as a single point of contact for wholesalers regarding policies and procedures across key functional areas such as Underwriting, Annuity New Business, Inforce, Commissions, Licensing, and others.
  2. Assist in developing and communicating new initiatives based on wholesaler feedback, and gather feedback on business practices.
  3. Coordinate complex activities like product launches, process improvements, and year-end processing with operations.
  4. Maintain relationships with key Operations staff to gather and provide feedback on distribution business.
  5. Work with Operations to resolve issues promptly, ensuring excellent customer service.
  6. Educate wholesalers to manage expectations regarding processing times.
  7. Provide backup support to team members to ensure continuous availability for distribution.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years’ experience in the financial services industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; industry designations preferred.
  • Knowledge of Annuities, bank wealth transfer products, and processing preferred.
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail.
  • Experience with change management and advocacy.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.

Salary Range: $62,000 - $75,000 annually

Protective’s targeted salary range for this position is $62,000 to $75,000. Actual salaries may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This range is part of the total compensation package.
