SFP Wealth is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Retirement Plan Associate Relationship Manager to join our team. In this role, you’ll work closely with our senior Retirement Plan Relationship Managers to support the oversight, management, and ongoing success of employer-sponsored retirement plans, including 401(k), 403(b), 457, and other qualified retirement plans. You’ll gain exposure to the full scope of plan management, including annual plan reviews, fiduciary and governance responsibilities, investment oversight, client and participant education, proactive plan sponsor communication, and coordinating the many moving parts that keep a retirement plan operating effectively. This role is designed for someone who wants to build a career in retirement plan management and client relationships, with the opportunity to develop the knowledge, judgment, and relationship-management skills needed to grow into a Retirement Plan Relationship Manager.
- Partner with Retirement Plan Relationship Managers to support the ongoing management and oversight of employer-sponsored retirement plans, including annual reviews, participant education, proactive outreach, and plan sponsor relationship management.
- Own and track follow-through on plan priorities and action items, ensuring commitments to plan sponsors and participants are executed accurately and on time.
- Manage and maintain plan workflows within Salesforce (SF), our customer relationship management (CRM) system, and RPAG, a comprehensive retirement plan platform, ensuring client and plan information is accurate, organized, and up to date.
- Prepare, organize, and upload key plan materials, including meeting minutes, Fiduciary Investment Reviews (FIRs), recordkeeper reviews, compliance materials, and other documentation that supports effective plan management and client communication.
- Assist with new client and plan onboarding, coordinating with internal teams and the Pension Resource Center (PRC) to support billing and implementation processes.
- Support Relationship Managers with compliance updates, regulatory changes, requests for proposals (RFPs), plan transitions, and other client initiatives, including preparing presentations and maintaining accurate records.
- Assist with the ongoing oversight and maintenance of 3(38) investment lineups, including semi-annual updates, batch reporting, and coordination of related plan communications and documentation.
- Collaborate closely with Relationship Managers and other members of the Retirement Planning team to review plans, identify priorities, address issues, and support the execution of client strategies.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance participant education resources, including Venrollment videos and other materials, ensuring content remains accurate as plan provisions and strategies evolve.
- Develop a strong understanding of retirement plan operations, fiduciary responsibilities, industry practices, and the factors that contribute to successful plan outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills
- At least 1-2 years of professional experience, preferably in financial services, wealth management, retirement plan services, employee benefits, or a related field.
- Experience with Qualified Retirement Plans is strongly preferred; experience with 401(k), 403(b), 457, or other employer-sponsored retirement plans is a plus.
- Strong candidates with transferable experience and a demonstrated ability to learn the retirement plan industry are encouraged to apply.
- FINRA Series 6 license and/or a retirement plan designation is a plus but not required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Salesforce, RPAG, Adobe, and OneDrive is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow projects through to completion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with plan sponsors, participants, and internal team members.
- Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn, with an interest in developing expertise in retirement plan management, fiduciary principles, and client relationships.
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach and a desire to take on increasing responsibility as knowledge and experience grow.
Salary Range: $75,000–$95,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated capabilities.
