Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Retirement Benefit Specialist to provide retirement benefits support to union members in Downers Grove, IL. The role focuses on calculating benefit payments, processing applications, and communicating benefit options to participants.

The position requires strong MS Word/Excel skills, prior customer service, and familiarity with retirement plans. Hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with benefits included.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Previous retirement benefits experience preferred.
• Experience with Taft-Hartley Funds preferred.

Responsibilities

• Calculate and prepare retirement benefit payment amounts
• Process retirement benefit applications
• Explain retirement benefits to participants and provide benefit estimates
• Answer high volume of incoming participant calls relating to the Pension Plans
• Regularly meet with participants to answer questions related to their retirement benefits, and communicate with other Fund Professionals as needed
• Interpret and administer retirement benefits as outlined in Plan Documents
• Draft and mail correspondence to participants and beneficiaries regarding retirement benefits
• Other duties and projects as assigned
