Job summary

The Kentucky Derby Museum in Louisville, KY, seeks a dedicated Retail Sales Assistant Manager to oversee the Museum Store, Churchill Downs Store, and online/eCommerce operations. The role focuses on front-and-back-of-house tasks, scheduling, payroll, cash handling, and daily store performance.

You will partner with the Assistant Director of Retail Sales to ensure exceptional guest service and accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years retail experience, one-year managerial experience, and five years customer service experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Proficient in basic business math, discounts, and margins; able to analyze data.
• Must be able to operate Microsoft Office and retail POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Assistant Director of Retail Sales in personnel management across stores and eCommerce.
• Motivates the retail team to deliver excellent customer service.
• Oversees cash handling, till reconciliation, and daily reporting.
• Assists with scheduling and hiring processes including interviews.
• Maintains store displays and visual merchandising.
