Job summary

The Men's Wearhouse, Inc. is hiring a Retail Store Tailor—Alterations to deliver high-quality alterations, measurements, fittings, and garment repairs.

You will work with a team to ensure precise fits, quality finishes, and exceptional customer satisfaction across alterations and tailoring services. You will be responsible for performing standard alterations, maintaining a clean workspace, training Sales staff on tailoring fundamentals, and supporting inventory management.

Qualifications

• Proficient in performing standard alterations to garment parts such as hems, waist, seat, and sleeves.
• Ability to measure and fit garments to ensure proper sizing and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain quality by verifying finishes, seams, and free of loose threads.
• Demonstrate proficiency with tailor shop equipment and maintain tools.
• Assist with inventory and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently perform standard alterations - including pant hems, waist and seat adjustments, rise and tapering modifications, coat sleeves, side seams, and lower collar adjustments - in alignment with company guidelines.
• Maintain an average of 60 minutes of productive alteration work per working hour, allowing for appropriate rest and meal periods and time for non-tailoring tasks as needed.
• Ensure all garments meet high-quality standards, including clean finishes, secure stitching, even seams, and the removal of loose threads and pins.
• Press garments to ensure a clean crisp finish.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace; ensure all tools and materials are properly stored and well-maintained.
• Demonstrate proficiency with all tailor shop equipment.
