Job summary

Wegmans Food Markets in New York is hiring an entry-level hourly leader for our bakery department. You’ll join a dynamic retail environment, lead a small team, and ensure customers receive the freshest bakery products while learning about our standards and measures.

You’ll train and coordinate daily tasks, educate team members and customers on product offerings, and help create a welcoming, knowledgeable service culture across the bakery.

What You’ll Do

• Focus on company standards regarding merchandising, highlighting quality, freshness and uniqueness of products
• Coordinate the daily tasks of your team to ensure products are available timely for customers
• Use passion and knowledge to educate team members and customers on product offerings
• Proactively approach customers, answer questions, help locate items and offer suggestions to complete their meals

Requirements

• 1 or more years of work experience or a college degree
• Computer skills

• Experience leading a team
• Enthusiasm for and knowledge of relevant products
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new situations and subject matters
