Job summary

Cotopaxi is seeking a Lead Guide for our Southcenter store in Tukwila, WA. This part-time, non-exempt role connects guests with gear and our Do Good mission, coaching Guides and elevating guest experiences.

You will open/close, support inventory, merchandising, and team culture, while modeling Cotopaxi's values. Ideal candidates have 1+ year retail experience in a lead or supervisory role, strong people skills, and a growth mindset. Physical stamina to lift up to 50 lbs is required.

Job Compensation: $24.00/hr

Job Overview

As a Lead Guide, you are the bridge between the sales floor and store leadership, helping elevate both guest experiences and team culture. You guide guests through our mission and coach fellow Guides on product knowledge.

Job Responsibilities

• Help open and close the store and ensure daily operations run smoothly.
• Support inventory management, merchandising, and back‑of‑house organization.
• Delegate tasks, manage priorities, and uphold store standards that keep things spruced and ready.
• Offer real‑time feedback that grows confidence and strengthens team camaraderie.
• Support new hire onboarding and help shape a team that reflects our values.

The Ideal Candidate

• 18 years or older.
• 1+ year of retail experience, ideally in a Lead or Supervisor role.
• Energized by people, storytelling, and authentic connection.
• A natural motivator and team builder – you lift others up.
• Have an eye for detail and are highly organized.
• A growth mindset – flexible, creative, and proactive.
