Retail Supervisor (Finance)



The Retail Supervisor is responsible for assisting with supervision, store, and donation center operations. The role involves motivating the team to meet customer satisfaction and production standards to achieve revenue goals. The supervisor supports merchandising efforts and coaches engaging customer interactions to ensure a positive customer experience.

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:

Understands and abides by policies, procedures, and programs. Typically works on projects and tasks spanning 1 day to 3 months.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  1. Project and Change Management: Plans and manages work to reliably complete routine responsibilities. Adapts to change through learning and skill development.
  2. Problem Solving: Completes routine work with close supervision; work exceeding routine is guided by detailed instructions.
  3. Technical Skill: Possesses basic knowledge of procedures and customer service fundamentals. Responds to routine requests effectively.
  4. Community Engagement: Acts as an ambassador for Goodwill, participating in volunteer activities as schedule permits.
  5. Merchandise Management: Maximizes the value of donated goods and maintains store standards. Ensures proper rotation of merchandise for continuous flow.
  6. Team Support: Supports training and coaching of employees. Oversees coverage at POS and donation areas.
  7. Hiring Support: Assists with hiring processes, including phone screens and training.
  8. Customer Service Leadership: Operates registers, manages customer flow, and maintains sales productivity and cash controls.
  9. Safety: Maintains a safe work environment, ensuring safe operation of equipment.
  10. Loss Prevention: Collaborates with management on apprehensions following loss prevention policies.
  11. Reporting: Completes reports accurately and shares insights or concerns with leadership.
  12. Policy Implementation: Communicates policies clearly and reports concerns appropriately.
  13. Work Organization: Plans work to enhance customer service and asset protection.
  14. Other Duties: Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
  2. Ability to obtain and retain forklift certification.
  3. Flexible schedule including at least two closing shifts per week and every other weekend; additional shifts may be required.
  4. Working phone for communication.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:

Regularly lifts/moves up to 10 pounds; frequently up to 20 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds. Requires movement, reaching, bending, and exposure to weather and hazards. Must stand for long periods, respond to warning signals, and use computers. Travel may be required.

Salary placement considers education, experience, internal equity, market demands, and other factors. Most hires are not at the top of the pay range. Compensation decisions are case-dependent.

Some roles are eligible for incentive plans, which are not guaranteed and subject to plan terms and changes.
