Job summary

The LEGO Group in New York seeks a Team Leader for LEGO Brand Retail to energize and inspire our team for outstanding performance. You will motivate staff, lead floor operations, train associates and ensure a high standard of customer service while maintaining a safe, vibrant store environment.

You will drive top-line sales through effective leadership, merchandising, and accurate cash handling, with a weekly availability up to 20 hours. Join us in delivering magical LEGO experiences to guests.

Qualifications

  • Leadership and/or management experience in a retail store environment
  • Experience delivering employee training, facilitating meetings, and giving feedback
  • Ability to use voice amplifiers, headsets, earpieces, and/or microphones
  • Ability to drive top-line sales through effective floor leadership and people development
  • Execute effective floor leadership and merchandising
  • Cash handling and inventory/sales auditing
  • Point of sale automated systems
  • Ensure store goals via strategic planning
  • Elevate guest experience through merchandise maintenance and visual merchandising
  • Physical requirements: standing, lifting up to 30 lbs
  • Availability to work up to 20 hours per week

  • Maximize profitable sales by the regular review of sales and margin information
  • Assist to ensure that appropriate and effective space management techniques are utilized
  • Ensure that the Store graphics system (including pricing) is maintained effectively, with a focus on customer service and maximizing profitable sales
  • Ensure that all fixtures are always replenished
  • Evaluate and communicate on competitor visual merchandising techniques, identifying opportunities to develop our business further
  • Train Sales Associates on visual merchandising techniques according to LEGO® Brand Retail guidelines
  • Motivate and develop a high-performance team by sharing the LEGO® Brand, Vision and Values

  • Leadership and/or management experience in a retail store environment
  • Delivery of Employee training, facilitating meetings, and delivering feedback

  • Execute effective floor leadership
  • Cash handling and inventory/sales auditing

  • Ensure stores goals are achieved through smart actions and strategic planning
  • Elevate the guest experience through merchandise maintenance and visual merchandising
  • Physical specifications: Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing and standing for at least two consecutive hours. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Involves lifting at least 30 lbs.
  • Ability to perform traffic counting duties that occur outside of the store
  • Must provide availability to work up to 20 hours per week (does not mean you’ll be scheduled for 20 hours, but 20 hours of availability must be given)

Compensation

The hourly wage for the position has a range of $23.50 - $26.70 , based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints. The LEGO Group carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to prior experience, skills, expertise, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details, inclusive of any benefits, will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer.
