Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our Kentwood, Michigan location.

You will assist with merchandising, organize merchandise from delivery to floor, perform opening/closing procedures, and ensure promotional displays are effective while safeguarding store assets. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; able to read and interpret directives.
• Retail store management experience preferred (retail/grocery/drug store).
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and frequent walking, standing, bending.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record-keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits) and loss prevention
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and colleagues
• Keep store clean, restocked bathrooms, floors swept and mopped, trash removed
