Job summary

Men’s Wearhouse in Chicago is seeking a Retail Store Tailor – Alterations to provide expert alterations and superior customer service in a fast-paced, fashion-focused environment.

You will mark, alter, and press garments, ensure proper fit, answer questions, and work with management to keep the tailor shop organized and welcoming for customers.

Qualifications

• Formal tailoring training preferred.
• Experience as a menswear tailor highly preferred.
• Strong technical sewing skills.
• Familiarity with various sewing equipment and machines.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency in all alterations of men's clothing.

Responsibilities

• Provide positive input and assistance to ensure guests are satisfied and receive a customized final product.
• Greet customers, interact with them, and respond to special requests.
• Mark, alter, and press garments with extensive alterations knowledge.
• Ensure proper garment fit.
• Answer customer questions and assist with sizing.
• Mark garments for tailoring and press as needed.
• Maintain an open dialogue with management and help teammates.
• Keep the tailor shop clean and organized, supporting cross-store locations as needed.
• Offer wardrobe ensemble suggestions to customers.

RETAIL STORE TAILOR – ALTERATIONS

Responsibilities

• Provide positive input and valuable assistance throughout the entire customer experience to ensure that each guest is satisfied and receives a final product that is customized to look attractive, fit well, and feel just right.
• Assist in the selling process by greeting, interacting with, and responding to customers regarding any special requests they may have.
• Use your extensive knowledge of alterations and passion for providing excellent service to expertly mark, alter, and press the garments our customers select.
• Ensure the proper fit of garments.
• Answer customer questions.
• Mark garments for tailoring.
• Press garments.
• Maintain an open dialogue with management.
• Help other team members.
• Help keep the tailor shop clean and organized.
• Make sure that customers are properly sized.
• Offer new wardrobe ensemble suggestions.
• You may have the opportunity to voluntarily work between multiple store or site locations, and across multiple brands.

Qualifications
