Retail Store Tailor – Alterations

We help people love how they look by providing a convenient, one‑of‑a‑kind shopping experience tailored personally to each customer's lifestyle. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to excellent service and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Provide positive input and assistance throughout the entire customer experience.
• Assist in the selling process by greeting, interacting with, and responding to customer requests.
• Use extensive knowledge of alterations to mark, alter, and press garments selected by customers.
• Ensure proper fit of garments.
• Answer customer questions about alterations and garment care.
• Mark garments for tailoring.
• Press garments after alteration.
• Maintain open dialogue with management.
• Help other team members and keep the tailor shop clean and organized.
• Ensure customers are properly sized.
• Offer new wardrobe ensemble suggestions.
• Volunteer to work across multiple store or site locations and across multiple brands.

Qualifications

• Formal training for tailoring preferred.
• Experience as a tailor for men's wear highly preferred.
• Strong technical skills and sound knowledge of various types of sewing equipment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Team attitude and enthusiasm.
• Proficiency in all basic and advanced alterations of men's tailored clothing.
