Pedego Sandusky is a well-established electric bike dealership located in the heart of downtown Sandusky, Ohio. We specialize in sales, rentals, and service of top eBike and scooter brands, including Pedego, Urtopia, Emojo, Blaupunkt, and HiBoy. With a 5-star reputation and a strong local following, we’re now looking for a motivated individual to step into a management role with the goal of becoming the owner.

Position Summary:

The Manager/Owner Trainee will oversee day-to-day operations, lead customer interactions, coordinate service and rental logistics, and assist with marketing and inventory. This is a hands-on leadership role designed for someone who wants to grow into full ownership of a thriving local business.

Key Responsibilties:

  • Manage retail showroom operations and lead customer engagement
  • Coordinate rental operations, scheduling, and fleet maintenance
  • Oversee service intake and repairs; assist when needed
  • Supervise part-time staff or seasonal workers
  • Handle basic bookkeeping, ordering, and vendor communication
  • Support online and social media marketing efforts
  • Learn all aspects of business operations with mentorship from current owners

Qualifications

Leadership & Initiative

  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership and lead by example
  • Self-motivated with a desire to eventually own and operate a business
  • Confident in making decisions and solving problems independently
  • Friendly, approachable, and professional communication style
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role such as retail, service, or hospitality
  • Capable of resolving customer issues with patience and a service-oriented mindset
  • Comfortable explaining product features and benefits to a wide range of customers
  • Basic familiarity with digital marketing and social media platforms
  • Willing to participate in promotional events, group rides, and outreach efforts

Mechanical or Technical Skills

  • General mechanical aptitude or interest in learning bike maintenance
  • Familiarity with tools and ability to perform light repairs is a plus
  • Willingness to assist with service intake and bike assembly

Business Operations Knowledge

  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage inventory and scheduling
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems or bookkeeping tools (experience with QuickBooks is a bonus)
  • Basic understanding of vendor communication, ordering, and supply chain flow
  • Knowledge of the Sandusky area and Lake Erie tourism is beneficial
  • Personal interest in biking, active recreation, and healthy living
  • Enjoys sharing recommendations and engaging with locals and tourists alike
