Job Summary

This position contributes to Sun Tan City’s success by leading a team to create and maintain the Sun Tan City Experience for our clients. The Salon Director manages the overall operation of the salon, including supervising staff, making staffing decisions, ensuring client satisfaction, monitoring performance, handling maintenance issues, maintaining cleanliness, and managing safety and security. The role requires modeling and acting in accordance with Sun Tan City principles to deliver an exceptional client experience.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Develop and coach employees to provide excellent client experiences.
  • Follow up promptly on client concerns and issues.
  • Set a positive example and maintain a calm demeanor during busy periods.
  • Ensure a client-first attitude by holding team members accountable for service quality.
  • Drive company metrics by developing action plans and implementing company programs.
  • Promote the culture, values, and mission of Sun Tan City with integrity and honesty.
  • Delegate responsibilities to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the salon.
  • Manage staffing levels to support employee development and operational needs.
  • Adhere to wage and hour laws for non-exempt staff and minors.
  • Use operational tools to plan and achieve excellence, including labor guidelines, reports, cash, and inventory management.
  • Analyze financial reports to identify trends and address performance issues.
  • Conduct performance assessments, provide feedback, and set goals to improve sales.
  • Manage ongoing sales activities.
  • Work a minimum of 40 hours per week, including varying mid and/or closing shifts as determined by supervisors.
Experience:
  • College education preferred but not required.
  • Management and/or sales experience required.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong client service knowledge and operational practices.
  • Problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Leadership skills with coaching and mentoring abilities.
  • Team building skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
  • Ability to bend at the waist to clean equipment.
  • Ability to lift or assist in lifting heavy items.
  • Ability to bend down to pick up items from the floor.
  • Ability to perform cleaning functions such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
