ABOUT OUR RETAIL TEAM

Join our dedicated Retail Team at The Salvation Army! Together, we serve and impact our community through our Greenway Thrift Store, supporting the Adult Rehabilitation Program. This role offers an opportunity to improve customer service, problem-solving, and teamwork skills while contributing to our program's success.

STORE MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee daily store operations
  • Develop strategies to improve customer service, sales, and profitability
  • Maintain good relations with customers, donors, and the community
  • Schedule staff and coordinate team meetings
  • Supervise staff performance and ensure compliance
  • Handle hiring, training, and disciplinary actions
  • Manage inventory and store maintenance
  • Ensure cash handling and banking procedures are followed
  • Attend district and store meetings
  • Implement safety and loss prevention measures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years retail management/supervisory experience
  • Proficiency in POS and cash handling
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance
  • Background check clearance
  • Effective communication skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist
  • Ability to push, pull, grasp objects, move up to 50 lbs
  • Repetitive motion tasks
  • Ability to perform duties with or without accommodations

SCHEDULE

Stores operate 7 days a week. Schedules are flexible, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to ensure adequate coverage.
