Job summary

State of New Hampshire Liquor Commission in Salem, NH is hiring a Retail Store Manager I to oversee daily store operations, customer service excellence, merchandising, and inventory management in a low- to medium-volume setting.

Responsibilities include supervising staff up to Retail Salesperson III, processing deposits, reviewing sales reports, and training employees while maintaining compliance with NH Liquor Commission policies.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Equivalent combination of 1 year of education and experience after completion of high school.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to continuously lift material up to 25 pounds, with frequent lifting of cases of alcohol weighing up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to work a schedule that includes day, evening, and weekend hours.
• Preferred: one year of experience in a public contact, retail store, cash-handling position.

Responsibilities

• Provides exceptional customer service by building a loyal customer base and assisting customers to enhance NH Liquor Commission reputation.
• Acts as a store manager in a low-to-medium volume retail environment and supervises store personnel up to Retail Salesperson III.
• In larger stores, assists with opening/closing, merchandising displays, deposits, and inventory control.
• Provides routine training and guidance to store employees in operating state liquor stores.
• Manages stock and maintains inventory levels; assists with deposits and banking.
