Job Summary

This role contributes to Sun Tan City’s success by leading a team to create and maintain an exceptional client experience. The Salon Director manages the overall operation of the salon, including supervising staff, making staffing decisions, ensuring client satisfaction, monitoring performance, handling maintenance, and managing safety and security. The role models Sun Tan City principles to deliver outstanding service.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coach employees to provide excellent client experiences.
  • Address client concerns promptly.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor during busy periods and set a positive example.
  • Ensure team members deliver quality service and prioritize client satisfaction.
  • Drive performance metrics through action plans and motivate staff.
  • Promote company culture, values, and mission with integrity and honesty.
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively for smooth operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the salon.
  • Manage staffing levels to support employee development and operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws.
  • Use operational tools to achieve excellence, including labor guidelines, reports, and inventory management.
  • Analyze financial reports to identify trends and improve performance.
  • Conduct performance assessments, provide feedback, and set goals.
  • Manage ongoing sales activities.
  • Work a minimum of 40 hours per week, including varying mid and/or closing shifts as scheduled.

Experience:

  • College education preferred but not required.
  • Management and/or sales experience required.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong client service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership ability to coach and mentor staff.
  • Team-building skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
  • Ability to bend at the waist for cleaning and equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to lift or assist in lifting heavy items.
  • Ability to bend down to pick up items from the floor.
  • Ability to perform cleaning functions like dusting, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
