Starting Pay:

$70,000.00 Annual

This position is eligible for a monthly bonus, based on performance goals.

We are hiring at all of our MD locations; if this location is not your preferred choice, we will discuss other opportunities with you.

Position Description:

Drives retail business operations at a retail store for Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliates, supporting the mission to end unemployment. Responsible for store production, leading Assistant Store Managers, Production Teams, and Donation Attendants. Key duties include leadership, store operations, financial management, inventory control, donation processing, customer service, and staff training and development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute retail plans to meet goals for income, revenue, and production.
  2. Coordinate with the Retail District Manager on strategic initiatives to increase donations.
  3. Monitor product levels daily to meet sales targets.
  4. Manage payroll and operating costs within budget.
  5. Ensure excellent customer service for donors and shoppers.
  6. Maintain store cleanliness and brand standards.
  7. Partner with community organizations to promote Goodwill’s mission.
  8. Maintain consistent in-person attendance.
  9. Represent Goodwill positively in the community.
  10. Be flexible to transfer and cover shifts at different stores as needed.
  11. Ensure staff are well-trained and perform their duties effectively.
  12. Oversee donation reception and processing, ensuring quality customer service.
  13. Manage product processing, pricing, and display to meet standards and goals.
  14. Collaborate with other stores to optimize donation and staffing resources.
  15. Ensure compliance with company standards and policies.
  16. Have reliable transportation for daily tasks and store transfers.
  17. Coordinate with support departments (Asset Protection, HR, Safety, Finance) to meet business objectives and ensure compliance.
  18. Build and lead a high-performing team.
  19. Manage performance, staffing, compensation, and staff development.
  20. Support the Assistant Store Manager in managing team performance.
  21. Lead culture change initiatives and change management processes.

  23. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years in retail management, preferably in thrift stores
  • One year of customer service experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid driver’s license and clean MVR
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
  • Proficient in English (reading and speaking)
