Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an experienced store manager to oversee all facets of store operations, including staffing, ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising, and customer service. You will lead a team, ensure policy compliance, and drive sales while controlling costs.

You will recruit and train staff, open/close the store, manage inventory and assets, perform cash handling duties, and uphold safety standards. Strong communication and leadership are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of retail management experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents.
• Strong math and cash handling skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and policies; ensure store is staffed.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, and counsel staff up to termination as needed.
• Make recommendations on pay rates and advancement.
• Communicate performance, safety and policy expectations; coordinate meetings.
• Open and close the store as required.
• Evaluate operating statements, sales trends, inventory costs, and shrink.
• Manage stock replenishment, ordering plans and weekly inventory issues.
• Staging, stocking and storage of merchandise per procedures.
• Present merchandise correctly with pricing and signage.
• Maintain accurate inventory and cash controls; ensure security.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and maintain a clean store.
• Ensure tools and equipment are available to perform tasks.
• Complete paperwork and documentation on time.
